Follow Friday #13

HOPPERS: If you are hopping by and especially FOLLOWING, please leave a comment even if it's just to say 'hi'. I do read all of them and visit your pretty sites, so please don't make me have to click more than i have to! Also, if you follow me, i will try to return the favour, so spread the following love!

Q: Have you ever wanted a villain to win at the end of a story? If so, which one?
Ooh...now that's a question i'll have to think about.
I love to hate villains, especially when they're so evil that you can hate them wholeheartedly without feeling bad, but i don't want them to actually win or anything. I still want the heroe/heroine to kick their arses and save the world.
But what can really work is when a villain is redeemed or saved, my favourite example of this is Spike from Buffy (i know it's TV, but work with me here) he was incredibly evil, but by the end he truly redeemed himself and is now one of my favourite vampires in all time history.

So...i guess i don't really have an answer. The only time i want villains to win is when i hate the book and/or the main character and just want it to be over and everyone to die already. Not the most positive outlook, i'll admit, but sometime you can't help it.

That's my evasive answer, but can anyone give me a villain that actually should win? I can't think of any, but maybe someone can remind me of one.
Have an awesome weekend,
Imo <l:)>

  2. Depends on what exactly one considers a villain. I picked a book with an antihero. Assassin to be exact. But he's not the "villain" of the story.

  8. I can't root for any villain too. Except maybe for Jacob in Twilight cause he just lives Bella so much. But still, Edward and Bella are for each other and Jacob is not tecnically a villain.
