Q: Have you had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with and then “broke up” with later on in either the series or a stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her.
I've had a few disappointments, but the only ones i can think of are Lissa from VA and Katniss from THG. Why, you ask? Well, in the very end of the last book and in Bloddlines, Lissa comes of as kind of spoilt and self-righteous when it comes to Jill. I know it's a shock and everything, but the poor girl has it just as bad!
And Katniss, in the 3rd book i think she kind of lost it. Not in a majorly bad way, in fact, i think it made the book have that much more of an impact, but that ending? Come on. WARNING SPOILER Like when she basically says 'i have kids...but i'm not sure i ever wanted them.'. Not cool.
So, who have you guys 'broken up' with?
Have an awesome weekend,
Imo <l:)>
I didn't have a problem with that particular line of Katniss', because I can see where she is coming from. It's a bittersweet thing. As for Lissa. Yeah, that really wasn't cool! *sigh*

Haven't read either of the books, but I really don't like it when in the end the "good" characters become to self righteous!! I love the blog name by the way! Hop on over if you have the time:

I remember being annoyed with Lissa too, but more so at Shadow Kiss ending. Can't quite remember the Bloodlines one!
ReplyDeleteAnd I haven't read the Hunger Games, but I do remember hearing the ending was not satisfying. Guess that was why?
Here's my Friday Hops

I haven't read the Hunger Games yet... well that sounds harsh. In the movie, i'm loving Katniss. I'm curious how she'll be in the books as well.

You know, I ALMOST put Katniss, too. Because of the end, like you said. But I really didn't expect her to have such guts during the rebellion and she shocked the hell out of me, so I couldn't put her on the list. Great answer, though! Here's my FF: http://meganm922.blogspot.com/2012/04/feature-and-follow-friday_27.html And I'm an old follower.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read too many books to know about these characters but I need to continue the series.
